Breaking News Geiger Unveils Ground-Breaking Wellness Product And New Business Unit
Geiger (UPIC: Geiger) has become the exclusive distributor for a revolutionary breast self-exam device called Liv and formed a new business unit to launch it, the company announced yesterday at its Geiger Galleria in Phoenix, Arizona.
Developed by four-time Emmy award winner Olivia Newton-John and Dr. Ernie Bodai, a world-renown breast surgeon, the device enhances the connection between touch and the brain enabling women to more accurately detect textural deviation in their breast tissue during monthly self exams.
The device is FDA approved for indication of use and has been granted an FDA 510k clearance for class II medical devices.
Spokesperson and breast-cancer survivor Newton-John had seen other products on the market and joined forces with Dr. Bodai to create the Liv. Through the enhanced device, Newton-John is working to fulfill her dream of all women in the world having a Liv and loving themselves enough to take charge of their own breast health. Geiger supports her mission.
Geiger became involved in the project when one of its salespeople got a request from a client hospital in Florida wanting 50,000 of the Liv medical devices. The road led to BHS International, Inc., the product’s manufacturer.
On February 1, 2010, Geiger struck a deal with BHS to become the sole distributor in the U.S and Canada for the promotional products industry and for small retail businesses.
