Candidates For PPAI Board Announced
Eight candidates for the next PPAI Board have been announced by the Association. The election will be held in September with official results announced in October. Two distributors and two suppliers will be elected by voting member distributor and supplier companies. The new board members will comprise the Class of 2015 and take office following the 2011 Expo. ThermoServ Acquires MugWorld
Dallas, Texas, supplier ThermoServ Ltd. (UPIC: THRMOSRV) has acquired Gainesville, Texas, supplier MugWorld Inc. The headquarters of MugWorld will remain in Gainesville and MugWorld will keep its name, serving as a product line under the ThermoServ umbrella. Financial information on the deal was not disclosed. Poken Partners With MMI To Launch Social Networking Products In U.S.
Lausanne, Switzerland-based Poken S.A. has formed a strategic partnership with Spokane Valley, Washington, supplier MMI International Trade (MMI) (UPIC: mmiline). MMI will assist Poken in entering the U.S. market with Pokens, small devices that enable people to share their social networking information by touching them with another Poken. Read more
HALO/Lee Wayne Parent Declares Quarterly Dividend
Compass Diversified Holdings, parent of Sterling, Illinois, distributor HALO/Lee Wayne (UPIC: LEEWAYNE) reported a quarterly cash distribution of $0.34 per share. The distribution for the three months ended June 30 is payable to all holders of record as of July 23. Read more
Zorrel Becomes Interim Licensee for Gabrielle Rohde Royce
Rohde Royce Inc. (UPIC: GABRIELL) is currently negotiating with a new partner to manufacture, market and directly distribute new products to the promotional products industry. In the interim, Zorrel International Inc. (UPIC: zorrel) has been granted the license under certain terms and conditions to continue to ship Gabrielle product from current inventory. In Your Face Apparel (UPIC: InYou682) and Rohde Royce Inc. terminated their marketing agreement on Gabrielle Rohde Royce products on June 30. Read more
NBC’s 'The Office' Looking For Promotional Items
Scranton, Pennsylvania, promotional product companies, now is your chance at a TV show. Tom Faulkner has been named to the new position of business development director of promotional products for St. Louis, Missouri, distributor Indoff (UPIC: Indoff). He brings 20 years of promotional products experience with him, starting with Norwood and Sweda on the manufacturing side and more recently with Goldman Products on the distributor side.
Gary Haley has been named president and chief operating officer of New Ulm, Minnesota, supplier Beacon Promotions, Inc. (UPIC: BEACONP). He is one of the founding partners of Beacon. Haley’s career in the promotional products industry includes senior positions with Norwood, Advertising Unlimited, Inc. and Brown & Bigelow. Arthur Olsen will remain as chairman of the Beacon board of directors and chief executive officer, while daily operations will be conducted by Haley.
Dan Pezzotti is the new regional sales manager for the Southwest for Woodstock, Georgia, supplier Fame Fabrics, a division of supplier ERB Industries Inc. (UPIC: erbind). He will cover Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Pezzotti brings 20 years of sales and service experience in the uniform, apparel and textile industry.
Mike Valentini Promotions (MVP Promos) has been named sales representatives for Hopkins, Minnesota, supplier Page & Tuttle (UPIC: MUNS0001) for the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C. Mike Valentini, president, has represented some of the top industry suppliers in the Northeast for more than 20 years. John Ragozzine has been with MVP Promos for 13 years. Jean Carboni has been with MVP Promos for eight years but has worked in the industry for more than 25 years.
Spot Prints Donates Proceeds From Tennessee Wristbands
Pleasant View, Tennessee, distributor Spot Prints (UPIC: SPOTPRNT) is donating all proceeds from the purchase of its silicon wristbands saying “We Are Tennessee” to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee in support of the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund. The fund is being used to support recovery of the 2010 floods in middle Tennessee. The wristbands sell for $2 apiece.
