PPAI Requests Safety Incentive Program Case Studies
PPAI is calling on promotional products professionals to help build a case in support of safety incentive programs. The federal government is beginning to scrutinize safety incentive programs. Some government agencies are concerned that safety incentive programs might encourage some individuals to fail to report on-the-job injuries in order to earn the incentives linked to the programs.

Currently there are no bills or regulations linked to this scrutiny, but PPAI wants to be prepared to respond quickly and effectively. If your company has any statistics, case studies or programs that will help PPAI bolster the argument that safety incentive programs, when properly and professionally executed, can make workplaces safer, contact Anne Lardner, senior manager, public affairs for PPAI at 972-258-3041 or AnneL@ppai.org.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

A distributor asks: "Is it a good idea to send out a company report card to clients and ask for their feedback? I'd like to know if they're satisfied with our services and what we could do to serve them better, but I don’t want to open a whole can of worms about pricing or services we're not equipped to offer right now."

THIS MONTH'S PPB

Following A Great Leader, A Great Industry
During the past year as chair-elect, I had the good fortune to be able to learn from and observe Sherri as she led the board of directors and PPAI. We were all fortunate to be served by this gifted leader.

The Making Of Oscar
What is gold, only 13-and-a-half inches tall and used to recognize the highest achievements in acting and filmmaking? It’s the Oscar of course, and each year dozens of the trophies originate in a factory on the northwest side of Chicago, Illinois, 2,025 miles away from the bejeweled starlets and dashing leading men who win them at Los Angeles’s Kodak Theater.

Doing Business In A Brave New World
What does economic life look like after the Great Recession? Most people agree, the recent economic collapse is the worst the world has seen since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Double digit unemployment, bankruptcies, foreclosures—what in the world is going on? When is it going to stop? What will it look like when we get to the other side?
