Hurricane Line And Belpromo Merge "We've been competitors with Belpromo since they entered the industry several years ago," says Alan Tabasky, who founded and co-owns Hurricane Line with his wife, Heidi. In an interview with PPB, Alan Tabasky said the process of merging started out as a friendly conversation. "The founders of Belpromo grew it very quickly by offering the largest drinkware selection and lowest prices in the industry. Hurricane Line itself has had strong growth with its best year ever in 2009, but we had come to a fork in the road," he says. Going forward, the company knew it would either have to expand operations or merge with another like-minded supplier that had the needed infrastructure in place to accommodate further growth. "This opportunity presented itself and we felt this was perfect timing," he adds. "The current management is handing over all daily operations to us" as of January 1. Belpromo staff will remain with the company. The entire Hurricane Line organization--including employees, machinery and systems--along with capabilities and professionalism will transition into the Belpromo organization. Houston Regional Donates Toys With Help From Pancho Claus "This year we delivered more than 400 toys to the poor and needy children of Houston," says Bill Turney, MAS, president of HPPA. "Pancho hosts several large events in Houston, but the two that stand out most to me are the Christmas Eve party for hundreds of kids who would have no Christmas except for this, and then Pancho's crew of low riders delivering toys in the very poorest of the "projects" and "little Mexico" on Christmas Day." |
