Clayton Kendall Acquires Jack Horner Promo Products Division "This is a great opportunity for us to expand our client roster with even more of Western Pennsylvania's premier brands," says Dan Broudy, Clayton Kendall vice president of sales. Todd McDermott, who served as JHC's regional sales manager, will join Clayton Kendall in the same role. "Having an in-house distributorship has been a tremendous value-add for our clients, and we will continue the model in Philly," says Jack Horner, president of JHC. Image Source, Branded Solutions Move To Larger Facility The new company headquarters gives the sister companies room to expand operations and add client services such as in-house warehousing and fulfillment. Jetline's President Clarifies Future Business Plans A local story mentioned the filing but failed to clarify one point: "We are relocating, not closing," says Levin. "We are adding new manufacturing cababilities that have a need for more space." Certain divisions of the company will remain in the tri-state area. "While the relocation will likely eliminate positions, overall employment numbers will increase with the increase in operations," says Damara Kotash, director of operations. "Opportunities exist for current employees who want to relocate, and we are working with the Department of Labor and other hiring agencies to assist those who cannot move." Pentel Renames Promotional Products Division "It was time to update and provide a new identity for the division that defines exactly what we do and who we are," says Mike Cappadocia, director of sales for Pentel of America. "This allows us to leverage our strong brand presence in other channels and provide a consistent message of quality that companies are proud to put their name on." Russell Specialties Leaders "We've been in this business for more than 30 years," says Russell Polinski about the decision to leave promotional products this month. "Business is still going strong, but we just wanted to relax for awhile." Polinski says he and his wife, Mary, will most miss the people with whom they have developed friendships throughout the years. "A lot of our customers have become our friends," he says. Robert M. Zak, who has served as CFO for the past 19 years, assumes the role of president. John K. Morrow, who has been with Russell for 29 years, remains vice president of sales and marketing. Fond memories of Polinski's time in the industry include gathering staff to travel to PPAI shows in Dallas, and also seeing staff members branch out and start their own businesses. While they have no definite plans for the future, he says, "We'll do some traveling and some gardening." As a result of the transition, corporate headquarters have moved to 21675 North Hampton Court, Lake Zurich, Illinois 60047-8659. The phone and fax numbers are 847-719-1100 and 847-719-1101. The Arlington Heights, Illinois, sales office remains in the same location. ppai in action

Regional Members Continue To Meet The ADvocate Challenge PPAI is drawing one name each month to receive a small gift for individual participation in the contest. The more reporting forms ADvocates turn in, the better the chance their name will be drawn. The next drawing will be August 25. Upper Midwest Association of Promotional Professionals (UMAPP) holds the lead in this leg of the competition, which asks members to give speeches and presentations on the power of promotional products for points. UMAPP currently has two points while Promotional Products Association of the Southwest (PPAS) and OPPA have one point. There is still time to participate in the challenge. The fourth leg of the competition will conclude January 11, 2010, just prior to the RAC Delegate Assembly at The PPAI Expo 2010. For more information on becoming an Advocate, the ADvocate Regional Challenge or the monthly drawing, contact Erica Edwards, PPAI communications coordinator. |
