Proforma TCT Promotions Helps Raise
$100,000 For Marine Conservation Group
Houston, Texas-based distributor Proforma TCT Promotions (UPIC:
Profo182), in partnership with retailer Academy Sports & Outdoors,
has raised nearly $100,000 for the Coastal Conservation Association of
Texas (CCA), a nonprofit organization focused on conserving coastal
marine resources.
Proforma TCT sells embroidered caps and screen-printed t-shirts
featuring CCA’s logo in about 60 of Academy Sports & Outdoors’ 88
locations. A portion of the proceeds from each branded cap or t-shirt
purchase goes to CCA. Although Proforma TCT and Academy have been
working together on the deal for six years, this year’s effort has
resulted in more sales than normal, says Gidget Tracy, vice
president of Proforma TCT.
“There’s been a strong push for this brand,” says Tracy, explaining
that a new buyer for Academy decided the CCA brand deserved more floor
space than the stores had previously allotted. “So far, we’ve sold
60,500 units just since March [2006]. It’s definitely been a banner
year.”
